This is the 2019 edition of this curriculum, and as such, it won’t be updated any further. The evergreen edition can be accessed through our subscription here.
The HTML5 Game Development Mini-Degree is the world’s most comprehensive on-demand curriculum. Learn to code and create impressive games with Phaser 3, the JavaScript library that took the developer community by storm, through a series of comprehensive, step-by-step video tutorials.
With this online program, we want to show you how fun creating games can be, and how seeing other people play and enjoy your creations can be an incredibly fulfilling experience.
No prior programming experience is necessary to enroll – we are including a JavaScript 101 module to get anyone who hasn’t coded before up to speed with the fundamental skills required for game development.
More advanced topics such as using ES6 and advanced JavaScript patterns are covered as well in the program. In fact, the last game is developed using ES6 and modern frontend tools such as Webpack and npm.
The games you create in Phaser are completely cross-platform, and can run both on desktop computers and mobile phones from day one. In addition to teaching you Phaser, we’ll cover how to build your games as native applications using PhoneGap Build (cloud service by Adobe).
Bonus: 3 x Interactive Mobile Courses
By enrolling in the HTML5 Game Development Mini-Degree you’ll get access to 3 interactive courses in our mobile app Codemurai (available on Android and iOS). With Phaser tutorials that you can complete on the go, the Codemurai courses are the perfect supplement to the HTML5 Game Development Mini-Degree.
