Master the foundations of augmented reality!
Augmented reality is a technology which allows us to place virtual objects in the “real-world” and view those objects with a device’s camera. Since the technology’s development, it has found its way into many industries such as gaming, tourism, and marketing – and created a new demand for AR developers.
Through this course, you’ll explore AR fundamentals with Unity’s AR Foundation package, an API that allows you to develop cross-platform AR apps for iOS and Android. You’ll discover key skills in detecting planes, placing objects, and exporting your project to your mobile device, all while exploring the features AR Foundation offers.
By the end, you’ll have learned key skills needed for all AR projects and be prepared to explore a wide range of complex mechanics.
This course assumes familiarity with Unity and C#, and that you have a modern iOS or Android device.
You will learn how to:
- Set up Unity for mobile devices
- Install the AR Foundation package
- Detect planes with your device’s camera
- Indicate position dependent on camera view
- Spawn virtual objects into the “real world”
